AE911Truth’s mission protected in new policy
On January 20, Donald J. Trump was sworn in for his second, non-consecutive term to serve as president of the United States. Among the many events he attended on the day of his inauguration was a rally at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., that concluded with the dramatic signing of several executive orders. This was followed with a flourish by Trump throwing the pens he used into the cheering crowd.
Among the executive orders he signed is: “RESTORING FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND ENDING FEDERAL CENSORSHIP.” This has been mentioned but barely analyzed by the mainstream media.
One might wonder why such an order would be deemed necessary given that freedom of speech is guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
As the executive order states:
“Over the last 4 years, the previous administration trampled free speech rights by censoring Americans’ speech on online platforms, often by exerting substantial coercive pressure on third parties, such as social media companies, to moderate, deplatform, or otherwise suppress speech that the Federal Government did not approve. Under the guise of combatting “misinformation,” “disinformation,” and “malinformation,” the Federal Government infringed on the constitutionally protected speech rights of American citizens across the United States in a manner that advanced the Government’s preferred narrative about significant matters of public debate. Government censorship of speech is intolerable in a free society.”
The order goes on to mandate that no federal resources be used to infringe upon the free speech of Americans. It also prohibits federal employees from engaging in activities that would restrict any constitutionally protected speech.
Due the controversial nature of the 9/11 cause, and the many ways our efforts to get our message out have been suppressed over the years, we at AE911Truth support all efforts to guarantee free speech rights. For this reason, we applaud the action taken by President Trump on this issue.
Though we Americans are told at an early age that rights like freedom of speech are guaranteed to all of us by the U.S. Bill of Rights, efforts to shut down views that run contrary to government narratives have existed throughout the history of the United States. The federal government’s exercise of coercive control over popular online platforms is just the latest example.
A broad interpretation of Trump’s executive order could also include other repressive government actions. Among these could be the use of COINTELPRO, a covert FBI operation created by director J. Edgar Hoover in 1956. It was aimed at “surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting” American political organizations that the FBI perceived as subversive.
While the government claims that the program was discontinued in 1971, many believe a form of it continues to exist today and strongly suspect that the 9/11 Truth Movement has been one of its targets.
In fact, in the name of combating groups that challenge official narratives, Cass Sunstein – who would later become President Obama’s information czar – wrote a paper in which he called for the “cognitive infiltration” of conspiracy groups. This would involve government agents posing as supporters of the group to infiltrate its ranks. The goal might be to sow doubt within the group about its beliefs, leading to its ultimate destruction.
Regardless of the federal government’s actions, we at AE911Truth will continue our legal efforts to educate the public about the controlled demolition evidence and to achieve, finally, a new investigation into the destruction of towers 1, 2, and 7 of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
Though the policies of the federal government may change from one administration to another, we and our resolve never do.
